It was all smiles for the Team as they received the top spot in the Team Category with fastest average time for members

The sport of triathlon has been gaining popularity for the past few years. From soap operas to mainstream media, the exposure of the sport has obviously skyrocketed. One good indicator is the appearance of various races outside Manila.

One of which is the Jelexie Triathlon which was Sponsored by Jelexie Bakeshop of Tarlac. This was their first venture into sponsoring a tri event hot off the heels of their successful duathlon event months back.

The vent was held last December 2, 2018 at the Jose V Yap Sports and Recreational Complex in Tarlac city. Race distance was a modified version of a sprint with 600m swim, 30k bike, and 5k run.

At the end of the race after all participants crossed the finish line, Team TriNics emerged as the top Team based on average time from all members.

Notable finishers were Kris Dinglasan and James Estrada who finished 2nd and 3rd overall respectively. In the Age Category (AC) department, the tandem of Gee Recentes and Stephanie Salamat bagged 1st and 2nd while Gerald Asiado and Jeric Buhian finished both at 1st place in their AC.

Jeric Angeles was 2nd while Kayle Borlongan and Marc Centeno got 3rd place.

Of course, this would have not been possible without the strong finishes of the other members who did their part for the top team award.

Overall, this was a race worth travelling to and a fitting end to a tri season filled with surprises for everyone.

Congratulations to Jelexie for a job well-done and to our brothers at Tri Force Triathlon Club of Tarlac for overseeing the event.
