Inspired finish at Clark Triathlon Classic 2018

It was a memorable and challenging day as Team Trinics joined the Clark Triathlon Classic at Fontana, Clark, Pampanga last September 16, 2018. The event almost got cancelled due to the the threat of typhoon Ompong (Mangkhut) up north, but later pushed through with a one hour delay from the previous schedule.

The race was generally overcast but conditions are safe throughout. In the end, the Team bagged various podium finishes from various age groups and race categories.

Amiel Buenviaje and Stephanie Salamat finished 1st and 2nd in their respective age category under the sprint distance. It was 1-3 at the standard distance wherein Gerald Asiado came in at 1st in his age category with Kris Dinglasan crossing the line at 3rd.

Gee Recentes and Luigi Barba caps it off at 1st place in the mixed relay category.

On top of the successful finishes, this was a special one as majority of the participants from the Team were first timers including Kris, Steph, and Amiel who all ended up on the podium.

Races like this are indeed great stepping stones towards longer ones and a big help in building up confidence towards the sport of triathlon. To the organizers and all finishers, congratulations!
